Arboreal - Tree Height 4.04

This application provides a high-precision method for measuring the height of trees using augmented reality (AR) technology. By leveraging the capabilities of a smartphone's camera, it calculates the distance to the object and the angle to its apex to generate an accurate estimate of its height.

The device's portability makes it an accessible tool for field measurements, eliminating the need for specialized equipment. Additionally, it can be used to measure other structures such as buildings, poles, towers, and bridges.

For optimal results, users should keep the camera upright during measurements, avoiding tilting or pointing towards the ground. It is advisable to stand at a reasonable distance from the tree and ensure a clear view of its top.

The app allows five free measurements; further measurements can be purchased to support ongoing feature enhancements.

Operational instructions:

1. Approach the trunk to a distance of approximately 2-3 feet and move the camera to allow the device to recognize the tree. Aim at the trunk and tap "Mark."
2. Step back roughly the same distance as the tree’s expected height.
3. Aim at the base of the tree; zoom in if necessary for clarity, then press "Mark."
4. Aim at the top of the tree and press "Mark."
5. Name the tree and save your measurement data.
